Fear

Fear is an American punk band from Los Angeles, California that formed in 1977 and is still a playing shows today, including the most recent 2008 Vans Warped Tour. Credited for helping to shape the sound and style of American hardcore punk, the band started out as part of the early California punk rock scene.

Over the years, frontman Lee Ving has been the band’s only constant member. Other notable members over the years included Flea (Bass - Red Hot Chili Peppers) and legendary punk drummer Chuck Biscuits.

Fear was featured in the Punk Rock documentary Decline of the Western Civilization in 1981 and achieved national prominence later that year after an infamous performance on Saturday Night Live due to John Belushi’s request. They featured slamdancers with the likes of Ian Mackaye (Minor Threat, Fugazi), John Joseph (The Cro-mags) and John Brannon (Negative Approach) in the pit.
