Band Spotlight - Ministry

Ministry got its start in early 1981 in Chicago, Illinois and was formed by current front man Al Jourgensen along with Stephen George. The duet begin as a new wave syntho-dance band and released several albums along that genre. During the mid 80’s Jourgensen parted ways with George and continued on with Ministry as a solo act. It wasn’t until the late 80’s that Jourgensen partnered up with Paul Barker on bass, brought back the guitar that he learned to play years before, and then added drummer William Rieflin to create the album “The Land of Rape and Honey”. The LP continuedÂ Ministry’s success in the underground music scene and is considered by many a classic in the subgenre of industrial metal. Here’s a video originally from the album “The land of Rape and Honey” which was later released live on the album and video “In case you didn’t feel like showing up”

Ministry’s next release was one of (and still is) my all time favorite albums, “The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste”.Â Since then, the band lineup has changed several times over with the exeption of Al Jourgensen and Jourgensen (as well as most of the other members) have worked on several noteworthy side projects, theÂ list is justÂ too long to go into.

I haven’t really kept up with too much recently so feel free to add your comments and / or news info regarding Ministry below.

Make Money On Line vs. Video Blogging

I have been writing about several ways to make money online here. I have not posted anything in a while. I guess I am kinda bored with writing about making money online for now, although I will come back to it. I’ve got a new site in the works that will be dedicated soley to making mony online. I’ll put the URL here later, once it’s up and in full operation. Besides that I have been making money with eBay and tweaking sales pages for eBay that I have not had time to keep up with this site.

For those of you who did not know, this was my first blog, I now have several. I have always used this particlular website for testing various things. It has kept the same domain name but has changed dramaticly over the years. See the about page to see how it started.

Based on that premis I am going to leave everything previously wrote (for now) with this last incarnation of this site, but it’s time to move on. As previously stated I will continue to publish ways to make money online and have that URL here when ready.

Now the plan for this siteÂ is to experiment withÂ video based blogging where I document some of the bands that I like.

I heard this song the other day and was wowed. It was Wasted Years from Iron Maiden, only … not. I hadn’t heard that for years. It really brought me back to the days of long hair and spandex, but anyway I thought I would search and sure enough a found the new version by Damone. Both versions are posted here for your viewing pleasure.
